Community Corner

Community Connections - Author Homa S. Tavangar

Open to the public; admission is $10.

Location: Lawrence A. Griffin Center for Creativity

Featured speaker Homa S. Tavangar, the author of
Growing Up Global: Raising Children to be At Home in the World and the forthcoming The Global Education Toolkit for Elementary Learners.

Ms. Tavangar will discuss her book and help parents and community
members think through questions of how their children will fit into a
world that on the level of technology and business is increasingly
inter-connected, but in politics, religion, and culture seems more
polarized. We often discuss with pride the fact that our children are
being raised to be "global citizens" - and Ms. Tavangar will help us
understand what that really means - while also making the
case that children who are comfortable in the globalized world gain a
distinct edge in competitive environments, and ultimately, become
better-adjusted and more confident adults.

Ms. Tavangar will also have
copies of her book available to be purchased (with proceeds going to
Shore) and signed by the author. Please join us for this exciting and
interactive evening.
