What are the benefits and impact of Chapter 61A property tax exemptions?
The League of Women Voters is hosting an educational forum to provide residents an understanding of state laws that save qualified landowners in Massachusetts money on property taxes if they keep their land in an open space use for forestry, agriculture, recreation or natural protection. The forum will include information on the history of the law as well as local facts regarding Chapterland parcels, the application process, tax implications, compliance and what happens when land is sold.
