Winds to 50 mph Could Down Tree and Cause Power Outages

A wind advisory has been issued for Sunday because of wind gusts to 50 miles per hour.

Wing gusts up to 50 miles per hour on Sunday has prompted the National Weather Service to issue a wind advisory.

The advisory runs through 10 p.m. and covers most of central and eastern Massachusetts, including Hamilton and Wenham.

The winds will blow from the west at 15-25 mph with gusts up to 50 mph, the weather service said.

“Westerly winds will increase later this morning,” the weather service said in its advisory issued at about 4 a.m. “The strongest winds should occur this afternoon and evening.”

Sunday’s winds may down a large tree limbs and could result in isolated power outages.
