TELL US: Did you Feel the Earthquake?

A 4.6 magnitude quake in Maine shook homes in Hamilton and Wenham on Tuesday night.

Did you feel that shaking?

An earthquake near Hollis, Maine rattled homes and teeth all the way to the South Shore on Tuesday night. Measurements by the U.S. Geological Survey said the quake occurred 16.8 miles underground and hit 4.0 on the Richter Scale. Lake Arrowhead is about 30 miles west of Portland and 90 miles north of Hamilton and Wenham.

At Tuesday night's Wenham Board of Selectmen meeting, Chairman Molly Martins announced that it was a earthquake a few minutes after it hapenned. She noted that it was not a large truck passing by Wenham Town Hall on Route 1A as some people may have thought.

Did you feel the earthquake? Were people overreacting? Tell us in the comments below!

Yes. In Manchester MA. Thought the garage door had come off its tracks!

Yes, up on Sagamore Hill, thought it might have been an explosion, but recognized it after a bit of thought. Felt something similar when I was living in Ipswich and we had a quake, back in the late 90s.

Felt like a train went by. Rattled dishes and walls.

I felt/heard the rumble and the dishes rattled in the cabinets. I thought earthquake or explosion like what we felt after the Danvers explosion. It reminded me of when they were blasting during construction of the new library and it felt quite similar.....but thyis lasted a bit longer. I could NEVER live in California where this is a frequent occurence that most peoplke barely notice anymore.

Felt like a huge truck going by. The house actually swayed a little bit, dishes rattled and pictures rattled and moved off center. Haven't noticed any real damage yet. Lasted about 5 to 10 seconds but seems much longer. We suspected what it was pretty quickly and than confirmed in on NECN news.
