MBTA to Shut Down at 2 p.m., Last Train to Hamilton-Wenham at 1:20 p.m.

Plan your trip home on the commuter rail accordingly because the MBTA will shut down at 2 p.m. on Monday because of Hurricane Sandy.

If you braved the elements and took the MBTA commuter rail to work in Boston this morning, pack up your stuff now: The MBTA will shut down service at 2 p.m. due to severe weather caused by Hurricane Sandy.

According to the T website, the service suspension includes subway, bus and commuter rail service.

The last commuter rail train to Hamilton-Wenham station will leave North Station at 1:20 p.m. and is scheduled to get into Hamilton-Wenham at 2:02 p.m.

Ferry service was already been suspended earlier in the day. The Ride remains open but users are "strongly encouraged" to call ahead to see if service is available.
