Friday Morning Veterans Day Observances Planned in Both Towns

Veterans Day observances are planned for Friday morning in both Hamilton and Wenham, including a ceremony on the Veterans Memorial Bridge in Wenham and a ceremony at Hamilton Ceremony.

Veterans will be honored in both Hamilton and Wenham in observances on Veterans Day on Friday. Both events continue long standing Veterans Day traditions.

Beginning in Hamilton, a breakfast event will begin at 8:30 a.m. at the .

There will be a wreath-laying ceremony at Cheeseman Field at in Wenham at 10:15 a.m.

Then, on the other end of town at 10:40 a.m. a group will form at Grapevine Road and Hull Street and march up Grapevine Road to a 11 a.m. ceremony on the Veterans Memorial Bridge that carries Grapevine Road over Route 128. The guest speaker will be Maj. Andrew Beckwith, a Boston based attorney and Wenham resident who is a U.S. Marine Corps Reserve, according to Don Luxton, commander of the Post 182.

A luncheon will follow at 11:30 a.m. at the on the Iron Rail property where all veterans and other are invited.

At 10:30 a.m. in Hamilton, a group will gather at and silently march up Bay Road (Route 1A) to for a ceremony.
