Five Things to Know Today in Hamilton and Wenham: Aug. 16

Today is Thursday, Aug. 16. Here are five things you need to know:

1. A mix: Thursday will offer a mix of weather, with a chance of rain to start the day under cloudy skies leading to an increasing chance of clearing skies and sun. Temperatures will get into the low 80s.

2. Stars: Members of the to on Thursday evening for a slide presentation which will, of course, be followed by an observation session with telescopes outside. It is free and open to the public.

3. Reggae: A top notch Reggae band comes to Castle Hill on Thursday night for the Trustees of the Reservations' Summer Picnic Concert Series. Inner Visions plays “authentic Caribbean reggae.” Gates open at 5 p.m. and the music starts at 7 p.m. The price is $20 per car for Trustees members and $30 per car for non-members.

5. School Committee: The Hamilton-Wenham Regional School Committee meets on Thursday night at 7 p.m. in the multipurpose room at . The committee will discuss a “communication” regarding the planned bond to pay for capital improvements to the schools. And the committee has an executive session to discuss “personnel matters.”
