Winner: Best Local Place to Buy Sports Equipment

Which business in the Hamilton and Wenhan area did Patch users say is the best place to buy sports equipment?

in Wenham has been voted the winner in Hamilton-Wenham Patch's "Best of Patch Readers' Choice" contest for .

The Main Street business received 10 votes, narrowly edging out with 9 votes. The at the received 4 votes and had two votes..

Also factored into tabulating a winner each week is new reviews in the business directory section. There was one new review of Sports Stop, where an user said the staff was “so helpful” when she bought a new tennis racquet and new skis. She said she would definitely return.

In the comments section, one person said they go to Modell’s in North Beverly and another asked why it was not included. The Best of Patch Readers Choice includes only business in a community with a Patch site, and there is no Beverly Patch.

Next week, Hamilton-Wenham Patch is looking for the best place to get French Fries. Voting begins Monday at 5 a.m. and will run all week.

Everyone buys on line now, as brick and mortar stores suffer. All you get a Dicks is the same Chinese Crap that is bringing our country down, economically. It figures Hamilton/Wenham citizens would pick this place. It's cheap, it's local and it's big box. Protecting our quaint business community is a nice thought, a panacea, but in reality when Hamilton/Wenham citizens shop, I see them at Shaws, Market Basket Walmart, Target and Marshalls. Not in our local shops, nor do Hamilton/Wenham planners create a shopping district where people can walk and enjoy the ambiance as in Rockport, Topsfiled, Salem or Exeter, NH.. It would be nice to see all these veteran bankers and business people come up with an idea for creating jobs, revenue and keeping our discretionary dollars that are left from being fleeced by all the non services we do not receive, funnelled into the schools and diverted into revenue enhancing projects, like fresh clean water. I can find cleaner water in Kenya Africa then in Hamilton. Thirty years ago Mayor Jimmy Vitale of Beverly offered Hamilton/Wenham as they did Salem to tap into the Wenham Lake Supply for a cost of only $40,000.00, half the cost of our student placement software. Yeah guys, you're doing a great job, keep up the spending !
