Treasures, Tunes and Trails All Part of Weekend Fun

A look at local weekend events in Hamilton and Wenham and nearby areas of the North Shore.

The Dane Street Band comes to Hamilton on Saturday night, after a Saturday morning that features the starts of the Wenham Museum’s Attic Treasures sale and a Trails and Sails event.

1. TOPSFIELD FAIR

Where/When: Topsfield Fairgrounds, 207 Boston St., Topsfield; Friday, 1-11 p.m., Saturday and Sunday, 10 a.m.-11 p.m.

Why Go: The fair is the big fall event here on the North Shore and opens on Friday and continue though the weekend and into next week.

Pricing: $11 on Friday, $15 on Saturday and Sunday; $10 per car to park

2. DISCOVER HAMILTON TRAIL WALK

Where/When: Patton Park; Saturday, 9 a.m.

Why Go: The Discover Hamilton trail does a great job at giving you a look at some of the town's hidden corners. On Saturday, this guided hike will take you on about half the trails, through Pingree Reservation and Bradley Palmer State Park then back through Appleton Farms Grass Rides and Harvard Forest. The group will meet neat the horseshoe pits at Patton Park. And thee will be a shuttle available at about the halfway point (4 miles) for those that want to use it to return to Patton Park.

3. ATTIC TREASURES SALE

Where/When: Wenham Museum; Saturday and Sunday, 10 a.m.-4 p.m.

Why Go: This is an event that attract bargain hunters from all across the region and there’s always some great “finds” every time there’s an Attic Treasures sale. All the proceeds of the sale go to help Wenham Museum.

Pricing: Free admission

4. MORAINE FARM OPEN HOUSE

Where/When: Moraine Farm, 701 Cabot St., Beverly; Saturday, 10 a.m.-3 p.m.

Why Go: A great chance to get a good look around the Henry Law Olmstead-designed property that is home to Project Adventure, the program that got started at Hamilton-Wenham Regional High School in the 1970s.

Pricing: Free

5. DANE STREET BAND CONCERT

Where/When: Asbury Grove Tabernacle; Saturday, 7:30 p.m.

Why Go: The Beverly-based Dane Street Band comes to Asbury Grove to put on a "Pops" concert.

Pricing: $5 adults, kids free
