How Powerful is Social Media in Hamilton-Wenham?

A local man wants a martini waiting for him at 15 Walnut tonight and he needs your help.

Wondering how powerful social media is? Will Burns, chief executive officer of Ideasicle is testing the power locally today.

Burns, of South Hamilton put out a challenge this morning around 11 a.m. on his Facebook page.

The challenge says: "A CHALLENGE. I've got $20 with "" written all over it (local Bistro/Bar). I want to see if social media can reach the bartender at 15 Walnut between now and 5:00 this evening. Here's the challenge, Mr. or Mrs. Bartender: I will be at your bar at exactly 5:00 today. I will bring this exact $20 bill. I'd like the following drink prepared, already on the bar, and ready for me at exactly 5:00: Plymouth martini, up, olive, dry as a bone, shaken like your life depends on it. I'll be wearing the "Nothing is unthinkable" t shirt in my profile pic. Good luck. Oh, and you can keep the change."

According to Burns' Facebook page, Ideasicle is a virtual company harnessing the power of 21 hand-picked creative experts with one simple mission: to come up with unbridled, unbiased, revenue-generating marketing-ideas for our clients.

Will his martini be waiting at the bar at 15 Walnut at 5 p.m.? Will you go and raise a glass with him? Make sure you upload a photo of Burns enjoying his drink.

What is it with Burns and his Friday martinis? The guy will do anything for a drink.

I love this! Wish I could have been there! Inquiring minds want to know....

Post Script: 15 Walnut had an ice cold martini exactly the way I wanted it waiting for me at exactly 5:00. Social media works, even in a small town like Hamilton/Wenham. I'd post a picture but can't figure out how.

Excellent news, you have given me another reason to use social media, even in our small town. Nice work Will!
