will have a new manager and some menu changes when it reopens on Wednesday after a week’s worth of renovations.
The breakfast and lunch spot in the 300 at Main plaza in Wenham has been closed since last Wednesday. The new manager, Nick Katsoulis, plans to reopen on Wednesday, Sept. 7.
Katsoulis takes over for Robin Green, who ran the café for about four years. She will now work at nearby .
“She told me she could no longer operate the business because business was down,” said owner Don Costin, adding that she asked to “bow out.”
Costin said he had interest from five different people. Katsoulis was the first to express interest, about a year ago, when Costin and Katsoulis were introduced through a mutual friend.
“We felt it would be a good change,” Costin said.
Katsoulis worked for a Dunkin Donuts operator in the Merrimack Valley as a project manager for five years.
“He used to get all the stores set up,” Costin said.
Katsoulis, a Haverhill native who lives in Sandown, N.H., said he’ll be at the café every day.
He does not plan any major changes immediately, and instead will listen to the customers and what they want.
“We are going to add some salads because that is what the people have been asking for,” Katsoulis said and he worked inside the restaurant on Friday.
There will also be soup and salad specials.
Katsoulis plans to have Henderson’s open 5 a.m.-3 p.m. every day but Sunday, when he plans to close at noon.
Costin, who will continue to own the restaurant and puts the coffee on at 3 a.m. each morning, said he also has a soda fountain that he hopes to get going again. The coffee punch cards will also remain, he said.
There are also plans to add ice cream – about 4-6 flavors to start – after a few weeks.
