Hamilton Dentist Named One of the Best Under 40

A national dentistry magazine has recognized a 37-year-old Hamilton dentist as one of the best young dentists in the country.

A Hamilton dentist has been recognized as one of the top young dentists in the country.

Dr. Armida Dano, 37, was one of the “40 Under 40” in the fall issue of Incisal Edge, a professional magazine. It is the magazine’s third annual feature listing “America’s Best Young Dentist.”

Dano owns Dano Dental Arts, which is located on Asbury Street next to the Community House of Hamilton-Wenham. She has practiced there since 2009 and works with three other dental specialists who work as a team at the practice.

Dano is featured in a full-page photo that was the result of a “celebrity-style photo shoot” during the summer. Dano is wearing her own gold dress and belt by Michael Kors, green Gucci shoes, an Oscar de la Renta necklace and bracelet and an Omega watch. There was a wardrobe available for the photo shoot by Dano said she chose to wear her own clothes. There was also a hair designer and makeup artist available as part of the photo shoot.

The recognition has been all the buzz with her patients.

“Everyone wants a copy,” she said, and she has a stack of the magazines at her office.

It all started last May when somebody nominated Dano.

“(The magazine) gave me a call and I didn’t believe them,” she said, noting she frequently gets calls saying she has won awards as a way to entice her to buy items. She quickly learned it was real and a trip to New York City was book for the mid-July photo shoot. She spent about another hour being interviewed for a short question and answer write-up as part of the feature, and was chosen for a video feature for the Incisal Edge website.

All of the award-winners were in New York City together and Dano said she knew two of the other honorees – she had them as students at the Tufts University School of Dental Medicine, where she used to teach as well as Harvard School of Dental Medicine.
