Carols, Cruisers and Mr. Claus All Part of Weekend Happenings

A look at events happening in Hamilton and Wenham this weekend.

Christmas celebrations kick into high gear this weekend, with everything from events with Santa at Green Meadows Farm and the Hamilton Police Department on Saturday, to holiday music events on both Saturday and Sunday evening.

Below, get the when and where for those events and others happenings in Hamilton and Wenham during the coming weekend.

1. 6TH ANNUAL GINGERBREAD EXPRESS MODEL TRAIN LAYOUT AND CONTEST

Where/When: Wenham Museum; Saturday and Sunday, 10 a.m.-4 p.m.

Why Go: It is the final weekend of the popular Gingerbread Express train layout. All around the layout are gingerbread house - depicting everything from gingerbread candy factories to light houses - that are part of a competition. Visitors can vote on their favorite and the winner will take home two tickets to "A Christmas Carol" at North Shore Music Theater and passes to the VIP Broadway Club. 2. 'STUFF A CRUISER'

Where/When: Hamilton Police Department; Saturday, 10 a.m.-2 p.m.

Why Go: The Hamilton Police Department plans to "stuff a cruiser" with unwrapped toys that will be donated to children at Boston Children's Hospital. Of course, Santa Claus will be on hand to help and he'll be handing out candy canes.

3. HAYRIDE WITH SANTA

Where/When: Green Meadows Farm; Saturday. 12-3 p.m.

Why Go: Take a free hayride with Santa and make an ornament at the craft table at Green Meadows Farm. Plus, enter a raffle to win a dollhouse, with the proceeds going to help Acord Food Pantry.

Pricing: Free

4. A FIRESIDE NOEL

Where/When: Community House of Hamilton-Wenham; Saturday, 7:30 p.m.

Why Go: The concert is described as a "kaleidoscope of music, dance, poetry, carols and merriment." It features Carol McIntyre on harp, Dean Pederson with poetry readings, plus an Allegro Dance Ensemble, Harmony and Voices of Peace.

Pricing: $12 for adults and $10 for senior and students at the door.

5. ENON BRASS 38TH ANNUAL EVERGREEN CHRISTMAS CAROL SING

Where/When: First Church in Wenham; Sunday, 7 p.m.

Why Go: The classic Wenham tradition return again, with Enon Brass, a British style brass band that is a spinoff of the Wenham Community Band, leading a Christmas Carol sing. Refreshments will be provided aftewad downstairs.
