Gusts to 60 MPH Possible with Thunderstorm Headed Toward Hamilton and Wenham

A severe thunderstorm warning for Hamilton and Wenham runs until 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday.

A severe thunderstorm is headed toward Hamilton and Wenham on Tuesday afternoon.

The National Weather Service issued a severe thunderstorm warning for Hamilton and Wenham and much of the surrounding area of the North Shore at 3:38 p.m. The warning runs until 4:30 p.m.

The weather service said that a severe thunderstorm capable of producing damaging winds up to 60 miles per hour was located near Route 495 at 3:34 p.m. and headed east at 25 mph.

“Severe thunderstorms produce damaging winds and large hail; Go inside to an interior room on the lowest floor of your home or business,” the weather service said. “If driving be prepared for low visibility and do not drive through flooded roads.”
