Forecasted Rain Postpones 'Nacho Average' Block Party

The 5th annual block party at the Community House has been pushed back from Friday night to Saturday afternoon because of the weather forecast.

Friday night’s “Nacho Average” block party has been postponed by 19 hours because of the threat of rain.

The party, hosted by the Community House of Hamilton-Wenham, was originally scheduled for 5-8 p.m. on Friday at both the Community House and at Patton Park. It will now happen on Saturday from noon-3 p.m., according to Carolyn Blaney, marketing and sales manager for the Community House.

The weather forecast for Friday night calls for chance of rain, while the Saturday forecasts is for sunny skies and temperatures in the mid-70s.

The deadline to purchase discounted advance tickets has passed, but tickets will be sold at the door. Tickets are $30 for adults and $20 for children and seniors.

The block party will include live music from Grupo Fantasia, a Salsa Tasting Showdown that includes five North Shore restaurants and an All-You-Can-Eat Buffet from the Wild Horse Café, Beverly/Ipswich Butcher Shops, Henry’s Market, Gourmet Delights Catering, Chipotle and Cherry Farm Creamery. Sangria, beer and wine will be available at a cash bar. There will also be games for kids.
