Another Hollywood Star Could Be Coming to Two Towns

A movie starring Cameron Diaz could be filmed this fall on the Gordon College campus in Wenham.

Last month it was Denzel Washington, next it could be Cameron Diaz.

The Salem News reports that movie scouts are slated to be at Gordon College on Thursday to check out “the quad” for an unspecified upcoming movie starring Diaz.

Cyndi McMahon, Gordon’s director of marketing and communications, told the News that college officials were told only that the new movie was about math. If Gordon is selected, filming would start this fall.

If the scouts find that the quad will work and Diaz shoots a scene on the Wenham campus, it will be the second time in just a few months that a Hollywood A-lister has come to the two towns to shoot a movie.

In July, Denzel Washington was in Hamilton for two days, shooting scenes with horses at Groton House Farm on Highland Street for his upcoming action-thriller “The Equalizer.”

Shooting for “The Equalizer” will continue in the greater Boston area through September and the movie is scheduled for release in September 2014.
