Strong Winds Could Down Trees, Cut Power on Sunday

A wind advisory has been issued for all day on Sunday into early Monday morning.

Strong wind gusts on Sunday may down trees, knock out power and make driving difficult for some larger vehicle, according to the National Weather Service.

A wind advisory was issued for Sunday at 7 a.m. through 1 a.m. on Monday for much of eastern Massachusetts, including the North Shore, plus parts of Connecticut, New Hampshire and Rhode Island.

The winds will blow at 15-25 miles per hour with gusts to 45 mph, with the strongest gusts from the late morning on Sunday into the evening.

The gusts will be strong enough to take down large tree branches and cause power outages, the weather service said. It could blow around loose items outside and could make driving difficult in “high-profile vehicles.”
