Severe Storms Possible Through 10 p.m.

Severe thunderstorms are possible through 10 p.m. on Monday night.

A severe thunderstorm watch is in effect until 10 p.m. on Monday for Hamilton and Wenham.

The watch was issued by the National Weather Service at 5:49 p.m. and means that conditions are favorable for the formation of a severe thunderstorm.

The watch included much of eastern and central Massachusetts, including all of the North Shore.

Earlier in the afternoon and evening, several severe thunderstorms were reported in central and western Massachusetts as part of a cold front that was moving through the area.

A severe thunderstorm is defined by the weather service as a storm with hail and/or damaging winds.
