Frost Friday Morning Could End Growing Season

A frost advisory has been issued for Friday morning.

A frost advisory has been issued for early Friday morning because it is possible the 2013 growing season will come to an end in Hamilton and Wenham.

The National Weather Service said the frost advisory runs from 2-9 a.m. on Friday because temperatures are expected to drop to the lower to mid-30s. The temperature could drop low enough to damage plants and officially end this year’s growing season.

The advisory was issued for areas of coastal Essex County where a frost has not yet occurred. The overnight low on Wednesday night and Thursday morning was 37 degrees, as recorded at Beverly Airport.
