Duncan, a coonhound, has been missing from Gloucester for about a month but has been seen several times near Wenham Lake.

The Essex County Trail Association is asking its members to be on the lookout for a lost dog that has been missing for nearly a month but was recently seen three times near Wenham Lake.

Duncan is a white coonhound with lemon and orange spots that has been missing from Gloucester since July 26. He was wearing a collar and tags when he was last seen.

He weighs 58 pounds and is described as tall and lean. Additionally, he has a pink nose, orange ears and a heart-shaped marking on one side.

An alert from ECTA on Wednesday said that here have been “recent credible sightings” near Wenham Lake and in the area of J.C. Phillips Nature Preserve, a nature area owned by the city Beverly that partially sits in Wenham. Duncan may be trying to head to Ipswich, where he once lived, the ECTA announcement said.

A poster that’s been distributed as part of the search said Duncan “may be heard baying or singing in the woods.”
