Wenham Museum Celebrates Art and History This Week-End

Artist Reception and Military History Day this Weekend at Wenham Museum


The Wenham Museum will host two community events this week-end to celebrate our communities creative artist and our countries military history.  Each event offers interesting activities suitable for families with children and for adults.   

On Friday, the Wenham Museum and the local art festival, Art Grows Here, partner to celebrate the 5th anniversary of Art Grows Here and the Art of the Artifact exhibit at the Wenham Museum. Meet more than 30 artists, enjoy refreshments, get your Art Grows Here map, and participate in art-making stations and demonstrations.  From 4:30-6pm, activities and games are geared toward families with poster coloring and collage activities.  After 6pm, the Museum will host a cocktail reception for adults to explore the exhibits and met the artist.  Refreshments offered by Bonne Bouche Caterers.  
     Suggested donation $10. 

On Saturday salute the United States Armed Forces at the Wenham Museum’s Military History Day. Uniformed members of the  Living History Association will be on the museum’s lawn available to answer questions, show memorabilia from the Civil War through WWII, commemorating the 100th anniversary of the beginning of WWI and help you explore inside antique military vehicles. WWII veteran, Charles "Bud" Dasey, comomerates the 70th anniversary of the invasion of Omaha Beach with his D-Day in a Box; recently featured on WGBH's Greater Boston.  Meet award-winning author Richard Rubin as he presents The Last of the Doughboys a conversational history of America’s experience in World War I as recalled by its last surviving veterans. Reserve a copy of The Last of the Doughboys in our Museum Shop.  
     Included with Museum Admission, $8 adults, $6 children, always free for members.
