The Statue of Liberty, Ellis Island and 9/11 Memorial

The Statue of Liberty, America's icon of freedom from oppression and tyranny has represented a new way of life for the many immigrants who journey to America. Ellis Island, Gateway to America, occupies a permanent place in America's history. Exhibits focus on the great immigration to America and the effects both had on families and their newly adopted homeland. Honoring those whose lives were lost in the 9/11 terrorist attacks, the emotionally powerful 9/11 Memorial pays tribute to victims with the inscription of each person's name on fountains placed where the original Towers stood.
