Boston Magazine's Design Home 2013 Opens September 12 for Public Tours

Boston magazine’s Design Home 2013 will open its doors on September 12th for four weeks of public tours benefiting Boston Children’s Hospital.

Built by New England builder Paradise Construction, this year’s Design Home is a 33,000 square foot multi-family, luxury condominium situated on a beautiful stretch of ocean in Swampscott, MA. The home, which is led by the vision of design coordinators Jerry Rippetoe and Tony Sienicki of tj’s at Sign of the Goose and developer Barry Turkanis, will be an inspirational showcase, featuring a vast array of products from the Greater Boston design community.

“One of the greatest aspects of this project is the way that it inspires people,” states Rippettoe. “For visitors who are decorating their own homes or beginning to house hunt, the Design Home allows them to touch, feel and experience a variety of home décor and technology products in person. We love being able to share ideas and spark inspiration.”

As the project’s design coordinators, Rippetoe and Sienicki will combine timeless pieces with unique accents to create an ambiance that evokes feelings of relaxation and luxury.  The house also incorporates unexpected hues, such as rich jewel tones, to complement the remarkable water views.

In conjunction with the interior aesthetics, architect Robert Zarelli designed the home with respect to the classic architectural elements reminiscent of Swampscott’s turn of the century seaside resorts. His use of clean lines and amenities of modern luxury can be seen throughout the property.

“Boston Children’s Hospital is thrilled to be partnering withBoston magazine on Design Home 2013,” says Michael Bornhorst, Director of Corporate Initiatives at Boston Children’s Hospital. “This year’s Design Home will raise vital funds for the Children’s Fund which supports the areas of greatest need at Boston Children’s Hospital.  Without donations like the proceeds from Design Home, Boston Children’s Hospital would not be able to provide the world class care that thousands of children and families rely on each year.”
