Veterans Supplies Collected at the High School Shipped Out on Friday

A daily look at five things to know to get the day started from Hamilton-Wenham Patch.

It is Friday, Nov. 22. Here are five things you need to know in Hamilton and Wenham: 

1. Rain: A rain shower and drizzle will be around on Friday, with cloudy skies. The temperature will get into the upper 40s with light southwest winds.

2. Pops: The deadline is Friday for discount tickets to the Holiday Pops concert coming up next month at Danversport Yacht Club. Dirk Hillyer and the Hillyer Festival Orchestra will be performing its 10th annual concert on Sunday, Dec. 8 at noon. After Friday, the ticket price goes up from $45 to $50. Preferred seating with a champagne reception are also available for $75. The concert benefits AIDS Action Committee.

3. Reid: Courtney Reid, a local singer and songwriter who has taught painting and drawing in Hamilton and performed locally, including at Jolie Tea Co., comes to Wenham on Friday night. She will be singing as part of the Sleigh Bell Holiday Party at Wenham Museum, which runs from 6-8 p.m. at the museum. Admission is $10.

4. Orientation: Local businesses that want to become involved in the North Shore Chamber of Commerce can find out the organization offers on Friday during an orientation at the Chamber Office in the Cherry Hill office park on the Danvers side from 8-9:15 a.m. The Chamber will explain its benefits and services and have staff, ambassadors and business leaders available to meet and ask questions.

5. Supplies: The C.A.R.E. group at Hamilton-Wenham Regional High School has plans on Friday to drop off all the supplies they recently collected for Operation Troop Support. The supplies will then be shipped out by the Veterans' Service group of Gloucester to North Shore troops who are serving abroad.
