State, Wenham Budgets Get a Look on Wednesday

A daily look at five things to know to get the day started from Hamilton-Wenham Patch.

It is Wednesday, Jan. 22. Here are five things you need to know in Hamilton and Wenham:

1. Cold: It will be another cold day, with a high temperature around 16 plus gusty winds that will blow around the new snow. The sun is expected to eventually come out by the afternoon.

2. State Budget: Gov. Deval Patrick is slated to unveil his proposed fiscal 2015 budget on Wednesday. Even though the State of the Commonwealth, originally scheduled for Tuesday night, was postponed, Patrick said the proposed budget will be released on Wednesday.

3. Violin: Master violinist Shaw Pong Liu is scheduled for two performances at Cutler Elementary School on Wednesday, one for kindergarten through grade 2 and another for the third through fifth grade. Shaw Pong will provide students with an “engaging exploration of China.”

4. Business Plan: If you are interested in entering the North of Boston Business Plan competition this year, the information session originally scheduled for Wednesday morning at the Enterprise Center at Salem State University has been rescheduled. It will now happen on Thursday from 4-5 p.m.

5. Selectmen: The Wenham Board of Selectmen are scheduled to meet with the Finance Advisory Committee on Wednesday night at 6:30 p.m. at Wenham Town Hall. The two boards will hear presentations about the proposed fiscal 2015 budget.
