Patton Committee to be Revived Tuesday Night

A daily look at five things to know to get the day started from Hamilton-Wenham Patch.

It is Tuesday, Aug. 13. Here are five things you need to know in Hamilton and Wenham: 

1. Rain: It looks like Tuesday could be the low point, weatherwise, this week. Rain is forecasted to be around for a good portion of the day and when it is not raining it will be cloudy. The temperature will be in the upper 70s and it will be humid.

2. Gymnastics: Iron Rail Gymnastics in opens its doors on Tuesday so that kids will can jump on the trampoline or play in the foam pit while their parents meet the Iron Rail staff. The gym is holding an open house on Tuesday afternoon from 1-3 p.m.

3. Nantucket: The Community House of Hamilton-Wenham leads a day trip to Nantucket on Tuesday. The coach bus will take everyone to the ferry in Hyannis, where they will take the ferry to the island where they can explore on their own or take a walking or bus tour. The ferry then return tour-goers to the mainland where, after a stop at Old Country Buffet for dinner, the coach bus will head back to Hamilton.

4. Sustainable: A group known as Sustainable North Shore meets on Tuesday in Salem. The group was formed “to address climate change and build a better future beyond fossil fuels.” They meet at First Church at 316 Essex St. in Salem from 6:30-9 p.m. on Tuesday.

5. Patton: The Patton Advisory Committee meets again on Tuesday evening to “revive” the group. The meeting is scheduled for 6 p.m. outside at the Patton estate on Asbury Street, where it will get a status update and report of several possible uses for the property, including for a Bed and Breakfast and recreational uses.
