On the March Back to 90 Degrees

A daily look at five things to know to get the day started from Hamilton-Wenham Patch.

It is Tuesday, Sept. 10. Here are five things you need to know in Hamilton and Wenham: 

1. Warmer: The temperature will creep back into the low 80s on Tuesday as it heads toward a forecasted 90 degrees for Wednesday. There will also be a chance of a shower or thunderstorm for most of the day on Tuesday as clouds stick around.

2. COA: The Wenham Council on Aging Meets on Tuesday to go over some possible new programs, among other items. The COA meets at 1:30 p.m. at the Wenham Senior Center on School Street.

3. Obama: President Barack Obama is scheduled to address the country during a prime time speech Tuesday night on all the major networks. Obama will hope to convince the public that Congress should vote to authorize military strikes against Syria. It will air at 9 p.m.

4. iPhone: Apple has announced an event on Tuesday afternoon that is widely expected to be an unveiling on the new iPhone 5S. The new features are expected to include a smaller design and a fingerprint reader.

5. School Committee: The Hamilton-Wenham Regional School Committee’s Policy Working Group meets on Tuesday to go over several district policies, including those gifts to staff and solicitations by staff. The committee meets at 7 p.m. in the Center School administration building.
