No School for Teacher Workshops on Tuesday

A daily look at five things to know to get the day started from Hamilton-Wenham Patch.

It is Tuesday, Nov. 12. Here are five things you need to know in Hamilton and Wenham:

1. Snow: A snow shower is a very real possibility first thing on Tuesday. After that, any clouds or rain will eventually give way to clear skies with high temperatures only in the mid-40s.

2. Trash: Trash pickup on Tuesday will start in Wenham at homes that typically get Monday pickup. Pickup will then continue to be delayed by a day all week because of the Veterans Day holiday on Monday. Pickup will start in Hamilton on Thursday and run until Saturday.

3. School: Again on Tuesday, there is no school for students in the Hamilton-Wenham Regional School District. It is a teacher workshop day. The school schedule returns to normal until Wednesday, Nov. 27 when there is an early release for Thanksgiving.

4. Tourism: The North of Boston Convention and Visitors Bureau will be giving out several awards at its annual meeting and awards ceremony on Tuesday night. The Award of Appreciation will be given to Bill Haney of North Shore Music Theatre, George Carey of Finz Seafood & Grill in Salem will be given the Story Teller Award and the Frontline Hospitality Award will go to Ralph Hawley of Woodman’s of Essex, among other awards. The event will run from 5:30-8:30 p.m. at Woodman’s of Essex at 127 Rear Main St. in Essex. To get tickets, call 978-465-6555 or go to www.northofboston.org.
