Mrs. Claus' Appearance Very Popular At Tea House

A daily look at five things to know to get the day started from Hamilton-Wenham Patch.

It is Wednesday, Dec. 11. Here are five things you need to know in Hamilton and Wenham:

1. Sunny: The sun will dominate the sky on Wednesday, but it will be gusty. The high temperature will get just above freezing with a west wind blowing at 13-17 miles per hour with gusts to 29 mph.

2. Movies: Mothers can have a special morning out with their young children at the movies on Wednesday with “Movies for Moms” at Hollywood Hits in Danvers. It is held on the first Tuesday of the month at 10 a.m. just for mothers, with special adaptations especially for mothers, including lowering the sound, allowing baby talk and raising the lights for better visibility. There is also a changing table in the back of the theater and in the restroom. This week’s movie is “The Book Thief.”

3. Concert: The Miles River Middle School winter concert is Wednesday night at 7 p.m. in the Ferrini Dramatics Center at Hamilton-Wenham Regional High School. Choral Conductor Abby Frost and Director of Bands Erik Fecke will lead the students in the free concert.

4. Mrs. Claus: Wenham Tea House’s Children’s Tea event take on a seasonal theme this week and next week with the arrival of Mrs. Claus. The tea on Wednesday afternoon is sold out, but next week’s tea may still have some spots. Call 978-468-1398 to check on the tea on Dec. 18 at 3:30-5 p.m.

5. School Committee: The Hamilton-Wenham Regional School Committee meets on Wednesday night to take a vote on close to 30 policies. The meeting is in the administrative offices at the Center School building at 7 p.m. The largest chunk of the meeting time has been designated to discuss the staff and student fraternization policy.
