Business Plan for Mac's Shoe Building to Be Reviewed

A daily look at five things to know to get the day started from Hamilton-Wenham Patch.

It is Wednesday, Dec. 18. Here are five things you need to know in Hamilton and Wenham: 

1. Clouds: Wednesday will start out as a cloudy day with the slight chance of a snow shower. The skies will clear through the day and the temperature will get to about freezing with northwest wind blowing at 13-15 miles per hour.

2. Concert: The Hamilton-Wenham Regional High School Winter Concert happens on Wednesday night at 7 p.m. in the Ferrini Dramatics Center at the high school. The Concert Band, Jazz Band, Concert Choir and Harmony will all perform under the direction of Choral Conductor Abby Frost and Director of Bands Erik Fecke.

3. Speak Up: Wednesday is Speak Up Day, a national day designed to use online surveys and reports to get feedback from students, educators and parents about technology uses in education. The effort is being organized by Project Tomorrow. The data that is collected in then shared with education leaders in Washington, D.C. and in Massachusetts.

4. Aging: Susan Wornick of WCVB-TV 5 will be the guest speaker on Wednesday at the Senior Networking Meeting at Beverly Hospital. Wornick program is titled “The Challenges of an Aging Parent.  No One Warned Us!” and starts at 8 a.m. with registration and breakfast and the program starts at 8:30 a.m. It happens in the lecture hall at Beverly Hospital. 5. Development: The Hamilton Development Corp. meets on Wednesday morning at 7:30 a.m. in the Memorial Room at Hamilton Town Hall, with a full agenda. The board is slated to review a business plan for the Mac’s Shoe Repair building on Willow Street and continue work to plan for a wastewater treatment facility for the downtown area.
