Several local residents tell the story of where they were and what they were doing when they first heard about the terrorist attack on Sept. 11, 2011. The interviews were conducted in the parking lot of The Shoppes at Hamilton Crossing, in front of Crosby's, CVS and Bank of America 10 days before the 10th anniversary of the attacks. First Church in Wenham will open its door to the community, in conjunction with Hamilton and Wenham town officials and public safety responders, on Sunday to honor the victim of the terrorist attacks on Sept. 11, 2011. Rev. Michael Duda said that anyone, from any faith - or even those with no faith at all - are invited to remember the victim from the terrorist attacks 10 years ago in a special service at 9:45 a.m. on Sunday. The service wil begin at the Wenham Fire Department before moving across the street to the church, Duda said.
The bell hanging on the wall inside the appartus bays at the Hamilton Fire Department is just one of the ways Hamilton firefighters honor the victims of the Sept. 11 attacks 10 years ago. The 10 year anniversary of the attacks on New York City, Washington, D.C. and Pennsylvania is on Sunday and this week on Patch will will honor the connections of the two towns to that fateful day. The bell at the Hamilton station has been hanging there since April 2007, when the station was opened as part of the town's combined public safety complex. The bell is part of Hamilton's Sept. 11 ceremony each year…
