Winner: Best Local "Staycation' Idea

Where did Hamilton-Wenham Patch users say is the best place for a "Staycation?"

Appleton Farms has been voted the winner in Hamilton-Wenham Patch's "Best of Patch Readers' Choice" contest for the best local place for a “Staycation.”

Owned and operated by the Trustees of the Reservations, Appleton Farms is located between Bay Road and Highland Street in both Hamilton and Ipswich. It received 5 votes in a field of 14 choices, ahead of CoCo Key Water Resort, Endicott Park and the Wenham Rail Trail and Swampwalk.

At Appleton Farms, there is the farm store, plus miles of walking and hiking trails. Additionally, the Trustees run a variety of programs all summer long that make great use of the 658-acre property.

Also factored into tabulating a winner each week is new reviews in the business directory section. There were no new reviews in the past week to count toward the tabulation of the winner. So we solely use the poll results.

Next week, Hamilton-Wenham Patch is looking for the best place to buy alcohol in Hamilton and Wenham.

Voting begins Monday at 5 a.m. and will run all week.
