What's Open and Closed on Presidents' Day

A look at what offices and businesses are open and closed on Presidents' Day in Hamilton and Wenham on Monday.

Presidents' Day on Monday is a federal holiday and is technically known as Washington’s Birthday. It is always the third Monday of February and is always the first Monday of the February school vacation week for public school students.

The day is designed to honor Washington – whose birthday is officially Feb. 22 – as well as all other U.S. presidents, including Abraham Lincoln, who was born on Feb. 12. “Washington’s Birthday” was made a federal holiday in 1885.

Here’s a look at some of what is open and what is closed on Monday. As always, it is best to call ahead.
