VIDEO: Kids Have Fun at Penny Carnival [PHOTOS]

The Wenham Village Improvement Society summer program hosted the Penny Carnival Thursday morning.

The Wenham Village Improvement Society Summer program held the Penny Carnival Wednesday morning. Kids from the program had the chance to enjoy bounce houses, face painting and water slides. There was even a dunk tank.

Parents sent their kids with their pockets full of pennies to enjoy in the day's festivities. A bean bag toss cost two cents to play.

All of the funds raised go toward a good cause. Last year, the money went toward a Wenham family in need. So far, Amy Blanchard, director of the summer program, is not sure where the money will go.

"We dug up the piggy banks and sorted the money and had some fun," Merry Kaulbach said. Kaulbach took the time to teach her daughter, 6-year-old Mariana about the value of money.

Every time they won a game, kids were given tickets. At the end of the carnival, they exchange their tickets for prizes.

Six-year-old Gabe Beckwith's favorite game was the bean bag toss. "You get one ticket for every bag you make," Gabe said, "since we're so good we kept getting tickets."

Gabe, his brother and friends left the carnival with a bag full of goodies.
