The new principal at Hamilton-Wenham Regional High School will be offered a job next week, according to Superintendent Michael Harvey.
Harvey said he received a lot of feedback from the sessions with the two finalists for the position that were held with teachers, students and the public earlier this week.
“I’ll be taking those home this weekend and going through them,” Harvey told the School Committee on Thursday night.
That will be the final step for Harvey, after two site visits this week.
Harvey said that the four-member team spent four hours meeting with parents, students, faculty and administrators in Wilmington and expected to do the same thing on Friday on Bedford.
Early next week Harvey said he will “fill in the blanks” about either of the candidates and make a job offer to the top candidate at mid-week and begin negotiating a contract. The decision on a new principal rests solely with Harvey.
The new principal will replace John Hughes, the retired principal at Natick High School who has served as the interim principal for two years after former Principal Matt Fox left to become the principal at Veterans Middle School in Marblehead.
