The new playground at Patton Park moves closer to a spring groundbreaking with Tuesday's deadline for bidders for the equipment.
A complete copy of the RFP is attached to this story as a PDF. It sets a deadline of Tuesday for companies to submit proposals to offer the equipment for the project.
The proposal seeks equipment for both children age 2-5 and age 5-12, a typical breakdown on most playgrounds. Proposals will be accepted with equipment cost up to $59,000.
An evaluation committee will look at all responses, taking into consideration the evaluation criteria and price. Once the top company is selected negotiations will begin and a contract will be awarded by Feb. 22. The RFP asks that the equipment be delivered no later than April 12.
Previously, volunteers that are part of the effort to construct a new playground at the park said they reached the fundraising goal of $150,000 and were aiming to break ground this spring.
Town Manager Michael Lombardo said said that installation of the new equipment will happen "as soon as possible" in the spring.
