Looking Back at the Week in Local Social Media

Each week Hamilton-Wenham Patch brings you Social Media Saturday, a look around the Wen at what's been happening locally on social media sites.

Here at Hamilton-Wenham Patch, social media is a big deal. It's how we interact with you, answer your questions and get to see what's on your mind. Social Media Saturday is a weekly feature where we highlight your questions and thoughts you've shared on Facebook and other social media throughout the past week. We'll also point you to some new and interesting pages you may not have known about before.

Overheard

- David Flynn commented that he got a hole in one on hole three at Lakeview Golf Course in Wenham, the was featured in the first of a new series called “Summer’s Back Nine” that will profile of a local golf hole each week through the end of the summer.

- “The Recycling Occupational Therapist” commented on last week’s “Meet Your Neighbor” column that profiled a local fan of the Segway. He wondered why a Segway was better than walking since he said that it “gets in the way of either cars or pedestrians, uses energies and prevents exercise.”

- The most popular story on Hamilton-Wenham Patch’s Facebook page this week was a tie between three different stories: A profile of a new real estate office in downtown Hamilton, the Moms Talk Q & A about tips for summertime road trips with kids and a story about how Wenham Selectmen are interested in coming up with a regular schedule to meet with Hamilton Selectmen.

Just a quick note to "recycling occupational therapist": The Segway was never intended to replace walking. It replaces driving. And at an energy equivalency of 450 miles to the gallon, it IS a clean, green, eco-friendly machine. It's also a lot of fun and can go 24 miles on a single charge...further than most "therapists" walk for exercise.
