Gordon President: Students are Helping Catalog Patton Family History

Gordon College's new President, D. Michael Lindsay, joined other North Shore college president in addressing the North Shore Business Expo on Tuesday.

students have spent more than 2,000 volunteer hours cataloguing and documenting the Patton family archives, President D. Michael Lindsay told member of the North Shore Chamber of Commerce at a luncheon earlier this week.

When complete, Lindsay said more than 80,000 photos, documents and other materials from the family of Gen. George S. Patton will be available for research and to the public. Hamilton town officials are also considering including some type of museum, operated by Gordon College, into t, which Joanne Patton plans to donate to the town. A . Town Meeting voters in May will be asked to accept the donation.

Lindsay said Gordon students are "actively engaged" in the community and the Patton project is just one example.

"We love being part of the community," Lindsay said.
