Pingree School Wins NEPSSA Small School Swimming Championship

The Pingree Girls Swim Team travelled to Philips Exeter Academy on Sunday to compete in the NEPSSA Championships.
Bringing only the six swimmers who qualified for the meet, Pingree won the Small School Division Championship (10 swimmers or fewer) while also coming in 8th overall out of the 30 schools at the meet.
Highlights from the meet:
Both the 200 medley relay (1:55.86) and 400 free relay (3:44.93) shattered school records coming in 7th and 6th place respectively. Emma Gaquin, Erin Cunningham, Simi Harrison, and Molly McSweeney were in both relays.
Molly McSweeney (Junior) came 1st overall in the 500 free setting a school record in a time of 5:01.61, which is the 4th fastest time ever at the NEPSSA Championships. Molly also won the consolation final in the 200 IM swimming the 2nd fastest time of the meet, setting another school record in a time of 2:09.53.
Emma Gaquin (Junior) , team captain, set a PR in the 500 free coming in 5th in a time of 5:15.70.
Simi Harrison (Junior), finished 7th in 50 free setting a school record in a time of 25.35.
Also swimming in the meet for Pingree were sophmore Veronica Monteiro and freshman Jessie Rucker.
